What is the Cost of Hiring the Paddle Boat?
The Paddle boat is for hire by the Hour with a minimum 1 hour period, but can be hired for extended time usually by the Hour. 2025 rate is $380 for first Hour and $190 for each extended hour. Rates and times are to be discussed with Captain Bob by ringing him on 0409 097 982
Can I bring my own food and drink on a Private tour?
Food and Drink, including Alcoholic drink, is permitted. Arrangements for the use of our BBQ or Hot water containers can be made by discussion with Captain Bob at time of booking.

When is the Paddle boat Available for Private Hire?
The Paddle Boat is available for Hire During the Spring Summer and Autumn (October to April) each year. It is regularly available Morning, Middle and Afternoon of any day. The Day, Date, and times available need to be discussed with

Is boarding of the Paddle Boat suitable for Wheel Chair bound Persons?
Yes the Paddle Boat can be boarded easily via the sloping entry ramp. Children, Adults in wheel chairs or using walking frames or sticks will find boarding simple.
Can I decorate the Paddle boat to suit the occasion of my Hire?
Yes you can. However the forms of decoration must not damage the Boat in any way or inhibit the operation or safety in any way. All costs and arrangement of decoration materials are to the responsibility of the hirer. Access to the Boat for Decoration and removal must be discussed with Captain Bob at the time of Hire.
Why do Public Cruises only run on Sundays?
The staff who Captain and Crew the Paddleboat are all volunteers. With limited Qualified Captains and a serious shortage of Volunteers it is only possible to run Public Cruises on a Sunday
Why is the weather a controlling factor in the Paddleboat Cruising?
The Paddle boat is designed to operate on a Lake which has lots of reeds below the surface. Thus it is a flat bottomed boat with shallow draft, and powered by paddles only.
Thus if the wind speed is too great we cannot safely steer the boat, and if the direction is also from the East or North the Boat cannot safely be reversed from it's Boatshed.
Are Dogs or Cats allowed on the Padleboat?
Dogs and or Cats are allowed on the Paddleboat provided they are suitable restrained, are of a placid nature, and will not offend or interfere with other passengers. The owners will be responsible for their behavior and are expected to clean up any mishaps.
What are the usual cruising times for Public Cruises and where do they leave from?
Public Cruises start and Finish at "Pipers Wharf" near the Botanic gardens area. Each cruise lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Boarding times are 1:00 pm, 2:00pm, and 3:00pm.
Do I need to book a seat for the Public Cruises and how do I pay?
Pre-booking for public Cruises is not available, Payment can be made either in cash or EFTPos as you board the boat.
Public Cruise costs for 2025 are: Adults $15, Children under 8 years $8 , Family 2A and 2C $40
